Premier Jeremy Rockliff says there are “no dramas” with releasing the Macquarie Point precinct master plan following calls from the Tasmanian Greens to make the document public.

Acting Greens leader Vica Bayley on Sunday asked why the plan, which was due in June 2025, had not yet been released.

Bayley said the federal government accepted the plan more than two weeks ago, but Tasmanians were yet to see it.

“The Liberals have created a master plan for the stadium site,” Bayley said.

“But Tasmanians are still in the dark about exactly what is in [it] … What is the holdup?”

Asked about the issue on Sunday, Rockliff confirmed he had seen the finished document.

“Yep, I’ve seen it. We can make it public,” the premier said.

Rockliff said the plan covers the entire precinct, including housing, infrastructure and amenities.

He said it had been submitted to Canberra because the Commonwealth has committed $240 million to the broader precinct, including the proposed stadium.

“It’s a requirement and I look forward to the Tasmanian public seeing the master plan,” he said.

A supporting housing plan for Regatta Point, released in November, outlines about 80% of the proposed apartments would be sold on the private market.

The plan says they are aimed at “retirees, professionals and families seeking premium waterfront real estate”.
