A Hobart man will face court accused of damaging 10 windows and two glass doors at Parliament House overnight.

Police were called to the building around 11:20pm on Saturday after a report of damage.

Nobody got inside the building, police said.

The 44-year-old was found a short time later in Elizabeth Street.

He will be summonsed on a charge of destroying property and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
