A man who allegedly became violent with police as they attempted to take him into custody on Tuesday night is now facing multiple charges.
The 52-year-old from Latrobe was arrested after officers were called to the home on Fenton Street over “concerns for the welfare of a person at the property”.

According to police, officers “communicated with” the man while he remained inside the house before arresting him and transporting him to North West Regional Hospital.
He will appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court today, charged with three counts of assaulting police under the criminal code, resisting arrest and firearm and drug offences.
“There was no risk to the wider community and nobody was physically injured during the incident,” police said.
