A 76-year-old motorcyclist is in a serious condition after crashing into the back of a truck on Hobart’s Brooker Highway today.
The crash happened around 10am on Friday near the new foreshore intersection at Montrose.
Police say a black Honda motorcycle hit the rear of a white flatbed truck as the truck slowed at the intersection. Both vehicles were heading north.
The motorcyclist was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital. The truck driver was not injured.
Traffic heading north was reduced to one lane while emergency services worked at the scene.
“Police believe the motorcycle crashed into the rear of the truck as it was slowing at the intersection,” a spokesperson said.
“Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or the motorcycle or truck beforehand.”
