Kyle Barrett, Rose Diamond and Melissa Anderson are the new councillors.

Barrett won 2,037 first-preference votes, the fourth-highest of any candidate. Diamond won a seat at her first council election.

Anderson, who ran for Labor at the 2025 state election, won a seat on preferences.

She had fewer first-preference votes than two candidates who missed out, Frank Rosol and Martin Gilmour.

Harris, who was first elected in 2018, finished with 911 first-preference votes or 2.4%. That was down about 2 points on his 2022 result. Preece and Marsden each won about 1.5%.

Councillors Hugh McKenzie and Lindi McMahon did not run again.

Joe Pentridge, Susie Cai, Andrew Palmer, Tim Walker and Alex Britton were all returned, along with mayor Matthew Garwood.

Garwood dominated the ballot with 30.9% of first preferences, more than three quotas.

Cai was elected deputy mayor on Friday after beating Palmer on preferences.

27 candidates stood for the nine seats, down from 33 in 2022.

Turnout rose to 84.9%, from 82.3% four years ago. That is just under the 85.6% average across all councils.

About 5% of councillor ballots were informal.
