Two charged with aggravated assault after man allegedly struck by vehicle in Sorell

Updated 10:30am, Wednesday: Two people have been charged with aggravated assault after a man was allegedly struck by a car in Sorell on Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called to Weston Hill Road about 9:30pm following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

Pulse understands the incident occurred in the Woolworths car park.

The 43-year-old Sorell man was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene after the incident.

“The vehicle was located by police at an address in Forcett,” a spokesperson said.

“Police will allege the people involved in the incident were known to each other.”

A 48-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman have been charged and are expected to appear in court at a later date.
