East Derwent Highway closed at Bridgewater after pedestrian struck by vehicle

A pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle on the East Derwent Highway at Bridgewater, in Hobart’s north, tonight.

Police say the crash happened near the Jordan River Bridge at around 8pm on Tuesday.

Both lanes of the highway are closed on the bridge while the crash is investigated.

“The man who has been struck has received injuries which are not believed to be life threatening,” police said.

“Motorists are asked to avoid the area.”
