A 23-year-old Glenorchy man has been charged with murder after an alleged assault earlier this month left a teenager dead.
The charge follows an incident on Dickson Street on March 11, where emergency services found a 19-year-old man unconscious outside a property at around 11:30pm.
He was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital in critical condition and remained there for 11 days before passing away from his injuries on March 22.
Police later confirmed the teenager had suffered a stab wound to the head.
Tasmania Police have arrested the alleged offender, who is expected to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court tonight.
Detective Acting Inspector Nicholas Bowden said the investigation is still ongoing, with police looking to speak to anyone who might have seen something.
“Detectives are still particularly interested in anyone with information about a small four door sedan, possibly silver in colour, in the area of Dickson Street at the time,” Bowden said.
“Any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should also be provided to investigators.”
