Launceston man hospitalised with serious injuries after car veers off road, collides with tree

A Launceston man has been rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after his car veered off the road and collided head-on with a tree.

The 48-year-old was driving north on Prossers Road towards Underwood, north-east of the city, around 3pm when he lost control of the vehicle and rolled.

Police say the man was the only person in the blue Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross at the time of the crash.

He was taken to the Launceston General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

“If any members of the public observed the accident or have dashcam footage they are asked to contact Northern Crash Investigation Services,” police said.
