Rescue helicopter deployed to remote West Coast road for injured motorcyclist after crash

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been called in to assist emergency services after a motorcycle crash on a remote West Coast road this morning.

The rider is understood to have come off their bike on Anthony Road, between Queenstown and Tullah, around 9:30am on Tuesday.

Police say the extent of any injuries remain unknown at this stage.

Motorists in the area have been asked to drive with caution and reduce their speed.

Weather across the West Coast is forecast to be cloudy and damp today, with the chance of a thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening.
