A young driver has been flown to hospital after crashing on a rural road in Tasmania’s north-east this morning.
Investigators believe the 23-year-old Scottsdale man failed to negotiate a right-hand bend and crashed into a large fence post on Golconda Road around 11:25 am on Saturday.

Police say the post “penetrated the windshield” of his grey Nissan utility on impact, leaving him with “non-critical injuries.”
After being transported to Launceston General Hospital by Ambulance, he was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital for further treatment.
Police say investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing and ask anyone who may have witnessed the utility prior to or at the time of the crash to contact them.
