An Tassie teenager had a lucky escape after a serious crash on Allen’s Rivulet Road last night – thanks to a feature on his iPhone.
The 18-year old male was driving when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree. His iPhone, which was equipped with a crash detection feature, detected the severity of the crash and automatically called 000.
Emergency Services extracted the teen from the vehicle, before he was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital with injuries to his arm.

Initial investigations point to driver inexperience and road conditions as potential causes of the crash.
