A teenage boy has been charged with several offences after allegedly smashing the windscreen of a Metro bus last week.
The 15-year-old was arrested on Friday following the incident on Jetty Road in Old Beach the day before.
Tasmania Police Acting Inspector Jason Klug said police take any matters that could affect the safety of bus drivers and passengers “extremely seriously”.
“Metro buses are equipped with numerous internal and external high-definition cameras, which means offenders can be quickly identified,” he said.
The bus driver was reportedly left shaken after the incident.
The teenager reportedly also stole property worth more than $8,000 in other incidents.
Among other offences, he has been charged with burglary and motor vehicle stealing.
