Hobart will soon get a new aerial adventure park, with a treetop course near Kingston featuring more than 600 metres of ziplines and what its operator says is the highest Tarzan swing in the country.
TreeClimb Australia is building the park at The Lea Scout Centre, between Kingston and Hobart. It will feature 89 aerial elements across six courses.
Thrill-seekers will be able to launch from a Tarzan swing 11.5 metres above the ground – roughly the height of a 3.5-storey building.
Four of the six courses are aimed at older climbers, while the remaining two are designed for younger children.

The park will be able to host up to 440 climbers a day.
TreeClimb founder and managing director Seb Packer said Tasmania’s outdoor culture made Hobart an obvious choice for the company’s first interstate park.

“Our goal at TreeClimb is to create experiences where people can spend time outdoors, challenge themselves, have fun and walk away with lasting memories,” Packer said.
The project has been more than two years in the making and follows TreeClimb’s acquisition of Tas Laser Skirmish.
The site will also include a cafe, undercover seating and space for events.
Some of the first Tasmanians to try the course were teenagers and children invited to test it ahead of the opening.

Byron Brown, 19, said it was “definitely something the whole family can come and enjoy”.
Audrey Atkinson, 15, rated it “10 out of 10”, while Dorothy Pitt, 7, said she liked that the course “got harder and harder” and offered a range of obstacles.
TreeClimb opened Australia’s first inner-city aerial adventure park in Adelaide in 2018 and says it has since attracted more than 500,000 climbers nationally.
Bookings open this week ahead of the park’s mid-June launch.

The park is also expected to create between 30 and 40 local jobs, with recruitment now underway.
“We are creating a range of job opportunities for people who love the outdoors, enjoy customer service and aren’t afraid of heights,” Packer said.
