A 32-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over an alleged shooting at a Wynyard home on Tasmania’s north-west coast this week.
Police laid the charges on Friday, two days after a 37-year-old man was allegedly shot in the stomach at a property on Sandpiper Road.
The injured man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Police allege the shooting happened shortly after 3pm on Wednesday.

They allege the accused then tried to hide the firearm at the property before fleeing on foot.
He was arrested at a house on Belton Street in Wynyard around 1pm on Thursday.

The arrest followed a 22-hour police operation involving uniformed officers, detectives and specialist resources.
Around 50 officers took part in the overnight search.
Detective Acting Inspector Luke Negri said investigators believed the alleged shooting was not random.
“We were confident that this was a localised and existing dispute between those two persons,” Negri said.

CCTV footage from a neighbouring property reportedly showed a man wielding an object and storming down a pathway before a shot was fired.
Police allege the firearm used was a shortened, unregistered small-calibre rifle with defaced identification markings.
The accused faces 13 charges in total.
They include attempted murder, wounding, committing an unlawful act intended to cause bodily harm and several firearms offences.

He has also been charged with burglary, stealing, trespass in a vehicle, possessing a controlled drug and driving while disqualified.
The man was taken safely into custody and no serious injuries were reported during the arrest.
He was due to appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon.
